Tri Balm: Multi-Functional Facial Balm

Cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise in one simple step!
Beauty regimes can be time consuming. Makeup remover, cleanse, tone, exfoliate, moisturise, buff, shine and voila, forty-five minutes later you are ready to go! Sometimes after a long day all you want to do is wipe the daily paste off your face and climb into bed. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a product that could remove makeup, cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise all at the same time? You know where I am going with this! Our prayers have been answered, by renowned make-up artist Frances Prescott. Frances has created a multi-functional facial balm, aptly named Tri-Balm that is designed for both men and women. Hurrah!

This clever little product is enriched with a variety of the best natural ingredients taken from plants, flowers, vegetables and seeds. Botanical oils such as starflower and oats purify and cleanse your skin. Pumpkin seed enzymes provide a very light exfoliation that is gentle on your skin whilst breaking down dead skin cells (perfect for daily use). Hyaluronic acid hydrates your skin and can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Finally, antioxidants such as Vitamin E and blackcurrant protect your skin from daily damage.

Tri-Balm is also certified by ‘Cruelty Free International’ and have a strict cruelty-free skincare policy. It is completely paraben, silicone and sulphate-free and has no harmful chemicals. This British made product also uses locally-sourced ingredients to reduce their carbon footprint. Fabulous!

The first thing I noticed about Tri-Balm (other than the pretty packaging) was the simply divine smell. Essential oils of Mandarin and Geranium create a delicious scent that lingers on your skin longer than most moisturisers. The packaging resembles more of a fancy perfume box and looks luxurious enough to be given as a gift. The product itself does resemble a deodorant stick, but looks ultra-sleek and high-end.

Whenever I try out a new skin regime, like most people my skin initially turns against me. I had one small breakout after the first week but then my skin started to clear. Maybe due to the lack of chemicals I avoided a harsher breakout. The balm itself is quite oily on application however, it has a lovely silky texture which works into the skin beautifully. When water is applied it doesn’t lather but instead emulsifies which makes it easier to remove. You can choose to simply wipe away with a wet cloth or cotton pad. Tri-Balm can also be used to remove makeup which I tried a couple of times, although it did take away the majority of my daily slap (apart from my waterproof mascara) I personally preferred to use this after my makeup remover.

I mentioned before that the consistency is quite oily. I do love oil based products, most recently I have been using Egyptian Magic cream which is relatively similar in texture. I did find that regardless of Tri-Balm working as a moisturiser I still wanted to use my day and night cream after use. This is mainly due to the fact my skin gets quite dry and I hate that tight skin, pulling sensation. However, I did find that my skin felt more hydrated and less taught after using Tri-Balm compared to other products I have used in the past.

If you have a strict skin routine that you don’t like to divert away from, Tri-Balm also works as an intensive moisture masque. Apply quite a decent layer of the balm, grab some cucumber to sling over your peepers and lay back and relax. I did this at the weekends and it left my skin extremely smooth, silky and hydrated.

Tri-Balm also works as the perfect travel essential, as its non-spill and not a liquid. You can also take it as cabin luggage, just pop it in your little clear plastic baggy and away you go.

I also think Tri-Balm would be perfect for brides looking to get gorgeous, glowing skin for their wedding day. Why spend a fortune on a six-stage skin routine when you can purchase just one? Especially if you are getting married abroad. You don’t have to worry about packing tons of lotions and potions. I work in events, and this product is prefect for when I need to have a refresh after a long day setting up. Usually I get around 10 minutes to find a toilet, whack on a bit of deodorant, pull out a face wipe, re-do my makeup and put on a dress. Tri-Balm is great as it allows me to give my skin a pick-me-up without me having to lug around variety of bulky beauty products. Perfect for the ‘Gal-on-the-Go’.

I would definitely class this as an affordable yet luxurious beauty product. Priced at £39.00 this covers your essential daily skincare routine all in one. Of course, everyone’s skin is completely different, what might work for some may not work for others. However, I have sensitive, combination skin and suffer with dermatitis breakouts so I am careful with what I use. Personally, I adore this product and can’t wait to see what Frances releases next!
