Easy Home-Spa in 5 Steps

Posted by Karena Callen on

Even at the best of times, we're big fans of self-care and pampering ourselves with a home-spa day.  Who doesn't feel better after a long soak in a candlelit bath, a steamy hot shower or a bit of DIY facial massage? Now, more than ever, we all need to take care of ourselves and to find some well-deserved me-time.

We may not be rushing off to work or picking the kids up from school, but not having a routine can actually be just as stressful as the school run or a hectic day in the office. That's why is so important to set aside some 'proper' time for yourself, in between home schooling, bread making, cupboard tidying and Skype meetings.  To make it easy, here are 5 of the simplest yet most effective ways to pamper yourself at home. All you need are 3 multitasking products! Enjoy...

1. Make time for a Mask

An indulgent face mask is a surefire way to recreate a spa-style experience at home.  Tri-Balm is  packed with moisturising hyaluronic acid, cleansing starflower oil and oat extract and skin polishing  pumpkin seed enzymes.  As well as cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating, it makes a soothing, smoothing and moisture-drenching face mask.  Warm the balm between your fingers tips and apply a generous layer to your skin.  Leave on for as long as you like and tissue off, or remove with a hot cloth or with warm water.

Spa Tip: Tri-Balm can also be used as a treatment mask for hands and cuticles, especially nurturing with all this hand-washing! Massage in to hands and cuticles and leave on for at least 20 minutes. For an intensive treat, pop on a pair of cotton gloves and leave on overnight.

2. Soothing Eye Compress

Give yourself a sensory spa treat with an eye-soothing compress.  Soak a couple of cotton pads with Tri-Spritz and place the pads over your eyes.  Tri-Spritz contains White Tea which is fantastic for relaxing tired eyes and de-puffing the eye area.

Spa Tip: Calm your senses and reduce stress, our facial mist also contains Rose and Orange Blossom Water and verbena extract.  Simply inhale the delicious scent as you relax.

3. Buff Up

Nothing says 'spa' quite like a top-to-toe body polish!  Our Tri-Body Treatment is not only a physical scrub that stimulates circulation and buffs away rough skin, it's an enzyme exfoliant too.  Bamboo granules polish skin while papaya enzymes gently dissolve dead skin cells.

Spa Tip:  Tri-Body also makes a super-indulgent treatment for elbows, knees and feet, all of which are prone to dryness. Massage in thoroughly and leave to work its magic for a minimum of 10 minutes. Shower off with plenty of warm water for the silkiest, smoothest skin.

4. Turn up the Heat

Make your at-home spa treatment even more luxurious by gently warming your creams and lotions before you apply them.  Warm Tri-Body Treatment Body Treatment between your palms before you massage it into your skin from top-to-toe.  Leave this skin-nurturing gel-to-milk formulation on for a few minutes before showering off or before bathing.  A perfect pre-bedtime treat,  Tri-Body contains Vetivert essential oil to promote sleep and soothe the senses.

5. It's a Wrap!

When we say that our products are multitasking, we mean it!  Not only can Tri-Balm be used to cleanse, exfoliate, moisturise and as a hydrating face mask, it's also a shine-enhancing treat for parched hair.  Apply the balm from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair and wrap your head in a warm, damp towel.  Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes as an intensive hair masque, inhaling the aroma of the essential oils. Bliss!
